With a name comprised of so many words, we don’t really know if we can say anything that would make this unique timepiece even more impressive, but we still have to try. Richard Mille has just introduced the RM 022 Aerodyne Dual Time Zone Tourbillon, a gorgeous watch which comes in NTPT Carbon that was meant to honor Asia.
The Swiss watchmaker has always been inspired by outer-space and supersonic speed, something that’s obvious with this particular watch. The new RM 022 is the first timepiece to combine a dual time zone with an external structure in titanium, combined with orthorhombic titanium aluminides and carbon nanofibres.
If that all sounds odd and Sci-Fi, it’s probably because it was meant to. The RM 022 is unique, featuring a dial in a honeycombed geometrical pattern which NASA thinks should be a core material on supersonic aircraft wings.
The RM 022 Aerodyne Dual Time Zone Tourbillon is powered by the in-house Caliber RM022, a manual winding tourbillon movement with hours, minutes and dual time zone. The watch comes with 70 hours power reserve, with the reserve barrel located between 11 and 12 o’clock for a continuous supervision.
The Asia Edition is actually a limited-edition product, with only 8 timepieces available in Richard Mille boutiques in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macau, Seoul, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.
