DesleeClama is a company that really takes sleeping seriously – or more accurately, it aims to bring together design and technology in order to provide its customers with the best quality sleep possible.

To this aim, the Belgian company created Sleeping Tomorrow, a revolutionary concept presented as the “the bed of the future” at Interzum 2013 in Cologne. The brainchild of renowned designer Axel Enthoven, the Sleeping Tomorrow bed features an organic design, as well as state-of-the-art technical features creatively integrated into the patented knitted fabric.

Optical fibers and copper yarns are knitted into the mattress itself in order to “sense” whether the person sleeping is too hot or too cold. According to the designer himself, the bed is a great example of what can be done with DesleeClama’s innovative fabrics. He also stated that the advantage of knitted fabric “is in the open structure”, something which enables designers to get extra creative and apply all sorts of functionalities like lighting, sound absorption, sensors, control panels and even invisible speakers, potentially taking the sleep experience to a whole new level of comfort.
