Last year, Russian luxury phone manufacturer Gresso released an Android smartphone called Radical (we’ve talked about the Radical Black Edition earlier this year). It came with an all-titanium body and relatively good technical specs, however it could have used a bit of improving in the looks department. Now Gresso is releasing the new Regal R1 smartphone, which not only feels great and has more than adequate features, it is also significantly better looking than its predecessor.
Once again, the device is made using titanium, which takes eight hours to mill for a single case. A process called “directional polishing” is applied to the back panel, which takes three hours in order to create the right metal texture, while also making the panel light, yet sturdy. Even the Gresso logo takes two hours to machine, before going through manual polishing.
In addition to the deluxe appearance, the Regal R1 also boasts a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 13MP main camera and a 5MP front facing camera, 32GB of storage, and runs on Android 4.2. The device is just 8.8 mm thick (apparently the thinnest luxury smartphone currently on the market) and also features a durable 5’’ 1080p Gorilla Glass screen.
The Regal R1 was released as a limited edition of just 999 items and can be purchased for $3,000 apiece.
