I’m pretty sure we’ve all watched him swim, and I guess we’ve all thought he’s superhuman. Michael Phelps, the greatest Olympian of all time after the games in London, was also named the new face of Louis Vuitton a couple of days ago. With six medals won at the 2012 Olympics, he now has 22 Olympic medals and broke the record for the most Olympic medals of all time.
He has announced his retirement from the world of competitive swimming after the Olympic games but we’re surely going to see and hear a lot more about him in the future. Louis Vuitton now pictures him half naked, wearing swimming goggles and trunks, half submerged in a bathtub, with a Louis Vuitton bag right next to him.
The next picture to admire is alongside the former record holder, with 18 medals, Russian gymnast Larisa Latynina. She has been holding the record for a whopping 48 years. They can be seen sitting on a sofa, Michael Phelps being dressed up in a suit, with a Louis Vuitton bag in front of them.
Shot by Annie Leibovitz, the campaign combines the manhood of Michael Phelps with the feel of a Louis Vuitton commercial.
