Meridian is a British audio brand known for its high quality products. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of their very first digital speaker, the D600, they’ve decided to launch a Special Edition series consisting of three new models: the Meridian DSP Digital Active Loudspeakers.

According to Bob Stuart, one of the company’s co-founders and currently its Chairman and CTO, the Special Edition DSP Digital Active Loudspeakers are the most advanced speakers Meridian has ever released, with over 25 years of experience and research put into their development. He went on to say that these loudspeakers specifically benefit from the company’s research into how people perceive sound, particularly how our brains process live sound.

The collection consists of the DSP8000 SE, the DSP7200 SE and the DSP5200 SE, all featuring a “beryllium domed tweeter, new electronics and driver clam rings”, as the manufacturer explains. Meridian further stated that the new semi-horn-loaded tweeter gives great transient response and wide bandwidth, which helps to get the most out of high-resolution recordings, while the Enhanced Bass Alignment provides a clean bass line that’s fast, with the clam rings keeping everything stable.

Prices for the Meridian Special Edition DSP Digital Active Loudspeakers range from $10,000 to $80,000.
