Mercedes-Benz has just revealed the 2015 CLS lineup and while the model has seen few changes, there are some worth mentioning.
The most visible of these improvements is the addition of of Multibeam LED headlights equipped with 24 individually-controlled LEDs automatically adjusted 100 times per second by using a camera and four control units. This system can detect oncoming vehicles and automatically adjust the light beam so it won’t affect the other traffic participants. Not only that, but the headlights can also detect upcoming bends and illuminate them ahead of time while the navigation system will detect roundabouts and then the headlight beam will be modified to provide optimal visibility.
The series includes the new CLS 220 BlueTEC and CLS 400 BlueTEC, as well as the CLS 250 BlueTEC, CLS 350 BlueTEC, and CLS 500. With the exception of the CLS 400 BlueTEC, all are available with the 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission, designed to heavily cut fuel consumption, while also “enhancing shift comfort and agility.”
Other subtle modifications include a front bumper with slightly larger air ducts, a front grille with a diamond pattern, and back taillights with a darker tint, while the inside features a new eight-inch free-standing color display and an updated three-spoke steering wheel.
