Logical One Secret, an Exquisite Timepiece by Romain Gauthier

Over a year ago, Swiss independent luxury watchmaker Romain Gauthier released his most complicated and expensive creation to date – the Logical One. The piece surpassed stiff competition to win Best Men’s Complications Watch at the 2013 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Building on that success, Gauthier has announced a new model of the Logical One called the Secret.

The timepiece’s trademark complication is a 394-component movement designed to keep the time with an outstanding degree of accuracy throughout its 60-hour power reserve, something it achieves thanks to an old, yet remarkably precise mechanism called the fusée and chain.

What distinguishes the Secret from its predecessor is the diamond set lit that covers almost the entire dial, leaving only the subdials visible. Set with no fewer than 181 baguette diamonds (adding up to almost 7 karats), it makes the watch just as nice to look at, whether the exquisite mechanism is exposed or not.
