It seems like Richard Mille thinks of black as the most en vogue tone at the moment, as he has proven in his latest collections. Unveiled a rather short while after the Black Knight, the Dark Diver is simply an extraordinary timepiece, both extremely high tech and gorgeous to look at.
The latest creation of Richard Mille is in fact a limited edition. It sports the RM 032 Automatic Chronograph, a remarkable piece of engineering. It sports a 300 meter water resistance, as it complies with the ISO 6425 standards.
Thing is, it’s not such a remarkable feat of strength to resist at the respective water depths with a watch that bears a regular movement, but for a chronograph it is a particularly hard thing to achieve, as the water pressure can easily start it by pressing the pushers and the crown.
Thus, to manage to pass this inconvenient by, the creator has equipped the RM 032 with a locking crown, which can easily protect and secure the pushers from accidental manipulation. The mechanism works through a simple rotation of the ring with which the crown has been equipped.
We’ve got additional technical details for you: the timepiece sports a 50 mm DLC-finished titanium case, 17.8 mm thick, flyback chronograph with minutes and seconds counter, hour counter, running indicator and an oversized display of the date and month.
The price for this piece of magnificence, the RM 032 Dark Diver, is a bit stunning – $140,000. It is available in a limited 30 units, exclusively at Richard Mille Boutique Beverly Hills.
