Leica has just revealed their latest creation, a brand new easy-to-use camera, perfect for any situation, which was named as the Leica V-LUX 3. This model isn’t such far from the tech used to produce other cameras before it, but it will surely be a success because it has many new goodies.
The main new feature of this camera is that it can record videos of up to 1080p and 60 fps, thanks to its AVCHD coded. The apparatus will also feature the 24X zoom lens with a length of 25-600mm in 35mm format. The launch date revolves around January 2012.
The camera offers exception picture quality, courtesy of its 12.1MP CMOS sensor that does well also during low light situations and high speeds. The gadget also has an innovative spirit, considering that it brings totally new color sharpness, low noise and high contrast to its class of cameras.
It comes equipped with the Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 4.5 – 108mm f/2.8 – 5.2 ASPH super-telephoto 24X zoom lens. The camera can undergo an incredible 12 fps frame rate at full resolution and way up to 60 fps at 3.5 MP. The AVCHD format of 1080p videos also gets up to 60fps, option available for MP4’s as well.
Letting you pre-watch your creations, the camera features a 3-inch LCD with a resolution of 460kp; furthermore, it provides close to 100% frame coverage thanks to its 0.2-inch electronic viewfinder. The side-lever allows easy access to the lens zoom, allowing the photographer to control the shutter button with his right hand.
The total package that comes when you buy it includes a load of options more, among which there are: built-in Flash and RAW shooting support, ISO 100-3200 range, full support for P/A/S/M modes and a starry-sky mode that features a maximum-60s shutter speed.
The main apps that come with the black-died camera when buying it in January from the Leica dealers worldwide are the up-to-date Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements – all these for a total cost of $949.
