Holes Kaleidoscope Glasses by Pamela Tietze

You’re right – what you’re about to see here is a thing of oddness and exclusivity at the same time. The first words that came into my head when I first saw the Holes Kaleidoscope glasses by Pam Tietze were “what in the world are these things?”

Here’s yet another accessory of art to the prejudice of functionality. The glasses boast crystal glass prisms from chandeliers providing the wearer with a stupefying display of color, light and movement, just like a kaleidoscope. The finish of the glasses, under prismatic principles and due to being derived from chandelier-grade glass crystals, may even create the feeling of envisioning yourself, of being viewed by yourself. The Holes will definitely be to the liking of those living under psychedelic styles and rules. Furthermore, they are also meant to transpond the wearer into a world of difference, a world for nighties.

If I come to think of them, these might actually do well in drawing you away from the world of casual, of routine and straight lines. They represent an artistic breakaway from common life, from the harsh colloquial life. Pam Tietze herself says “in the end, I hope they evoke the feeling of being a tourist in your own reality” and there’s a lot to fancy in her words. The only problem would  be the price tag. I don’t think they’ll come cheap at all.
