Hennessey Exorcist

Dodge is keeping everyone on the edge of their seats right now, awaiting for the arrival of the Challenger SRT Demon, but the brilliant team at Hennessey Performance jumped the gun and already revealed the next best thing. Called the Exorcist, this devilish vehicle is based on the powerful Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, featuring serious modifications meant to outperform whatever Dodge is cooking up right now.

The supercharged LT4 V8 engine of the Camaro ZL1 will usually output 650 hp, but Hennessey went all out and managed to squeeze a very impressive 1,000 hp and 966 lb-ft of torque from the very same powerplant. To make that happen, the car tuners had to install a larger supercharger, upgraded the camshafts, cylinder heads and engine headers, and also went for a custom engine management system and a high flow air induction system.

The Texas tuner ended up fitting the Exorcist with drag radial tires, allowing this beast to do 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in under 3 seconds and run the quarter mile in less than 10 seconds! But don’t let those numbers fool you, as Hennessey’s Camaro ZL1 is still able to show off impressive handling credentials which make it perfect for an interesting day at the track.

The Exorcist upgrade starts off at $55,000 and includes a 2 year, 24,000-mile warranty. Automatic transmissions will require an upgrade as well, which will cost you an extra $9,950, while the optional drag pack will add a touch of overwhelming aesthetics to the car, including 20″ alloys, an upgraded drive shaft, a new floor jack and tool kit, setting you back another $8,995. Beware!

About Victor Baker

Victor has always been a big fan of cars, which is why he’s so proud to call himself a genuine petrolhead these days. His love actually stemmed from his father, who was an automotive engineer. Today, he loves to write down everything that comes to mind, car-related or not, and when he really gets down to it, he pretty much becomes one with his laptop.
