The people at Dior were looking for inspiration for their spring makeup collection, and they’ve found in the legendarily luxurious-minded Queen of France, Marie-Antoinette. Specifically, it’s her private chateau, Petit Trianon, with its more idyllic, pastoral atmosphere, that has served as influence and inspiration.

The new collection’s centerpiece is undoubtedly the Trianon Palette. It comes in a sleek bow-shaped case which holds eye shadows, an eyeliner and a blush. Then there’s the Diorblush Trianon Edition, which has two new additional colors: a coral and a softer pink.

In addition to this, the Diorshow Fusion Mono matte eye shadows also come with some new shades, like black, taupe, mauve and nude. Finally, to complete the collection there are also a couple of skincare products, Dior’s Pore Minimizer and Glow Maximizer, new shades of Rouge Dior lipsticks, Dior Addict lip glosses and nail polishes – all inspired by Marie-Antoinette.

The Petit Trianon collection is already in stores and will be available throughout the Spring-Summer 2014 season.
