Beoplay H5

Beoplay H5 is Bang & Olufsen’s first attempt at making wireless earphones. Simple and well-designed, with no plastic collar to bother the user, these cool earphones feature a single braided cable with a built-in remote, playback, and volume control, that’s super easy to use. Water and dust resistant, and powered by 50 mAh batteries for each earpiece, the H5 package delivers up to five hours of brilliant music playback.

According to Bang & Olufsen officials, the cable’s design was inspired by the materials used to make the brand’s famous sneakers, that’s why the cable is comfortable and easy to clean. Interestingly enough, the H5s cling together with the help of magnets when they’re not playing your favorite tunes, thus automatically powering down the battery.

The very same magnets are used to clip the earphones into their “charging cube,” making microUSB cables a thing of the past. That’s why the Beoplay H5 represents a brilliant alternative to the classic earphones, with a decent battery lifetime and a simple charging mechanism once everything is over and done.

The icing on the cake is the promise of great sound coming out of 6.4 mm dynamic speakers and a Bluetooth 4.2 chip. There’s a companion app that helps users create different sound profiles for their new H5 earphones, thus adjusting tonality and sound staging, as well as monitoring battery life.

With all that in mind, everything sounds incredible – with a £199 ($268) price-tag to match.
