Some people see the nautilus as a symbol of the infinity, of perfection in time and space. Its spiraling shell relies on perfect mathematical relations conceived by nature. Marc Fish has released a line of furniture that gorgeously displays the beauty and precision of the nautilus shell.
The first piece of furniture we’ll be talking about is the Mollusque, being described as „an oversized representation of displayed artifacts”. In order to craft these pure works of art and to achieve double compound curved solid wood items, Marc Fish had to develop an extremely complex technique. He additionally conferred its projects a strong, one of a kind, if not pretty much fantastic personality.
And the other is the Nautilus II, which beautifully brings beauties from the sea into your home. A total of 4,000 pieces of veneer strips were needed to craft this one of a kind spiral, which, as a result, measures 10 millimeters in thickness. The Nautilus II was unfortunately realized in a limited series of 5 units, each of them totally unique in terms of shape and tone.
You think these works of art are staggering? Wait till you hear of the price – a phenomenal $59,500 for the Mollusque and $74,500 for each Nautilus II. To be honest, they’re worth every penny.
