Alfa Romeo surprised everyone at the Frankfurt Auto Show, introducing a gorgeous super saloon, dubbed as the Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde, that could easily compete with the likes of the BMW M3, Audi RS4 or the Mercedes C63 AMG.
With prices starting at 79,000€ (about $89,000), this wonderful Alfa blends the exquisite Italian styling with a potent 3.0L Twin turbo V6 engine, which was inspired by Ferrari, and it’s good for around 510 hp and 610 Nm of torque, enough to take this beauty from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds and to a mind boggling top speed of 307 km/h (190 mph).
The new Giulia QV has apparently lapped the Nurburgring in 7:39.0 – a new record for the saloon class that’s even 13 seconds faster than the BMW M4, mind you. And once the Frankfurt Motor Show closes its doors, Alfa Romeo will start taking orders for this four door masterpiece, that could cost up to 95,000€ (about $107,000) if you want carbon fiber details like ultra light carbon seats, carbon brakes and other carbon goodies.
With a dry weight of just 1,524kg, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde also boasts an impressive weight-to-power ratio and a perfect 50-50 weight distribution between the axles. Also worth mentioning are the most direct steering out there and a Torque Vectoring system chassis setup, as well as an Active Aero Splitter for some extra downforce.
Inside the cabin this Alfa is equally impressive, and you’ll find here an 8.8 inch TFT display for the Connect 3D Nav, controlled by a rotary pad and an advanced voice recognition system. Alfa promises full connectivity with all mobile devices, as well as high-resolution 3D maps for navigating around the world.
The new Alfa is expected to reach UK and US dealers in 2016, and might just be the best of the best from the Italian car manufacturer.
