Aimed for the high-class society, the Royal Blue Tourbillion Haute Joaillerie watch was presented to the public at the 24th Annual Showboats International Rendezvous among other custom-made timepieces signed Ulysse Nardin. This particular one costs around $1.1 million, placing it pretty high on the most expensive watches list.
The designers of the watch played with royal blue- and platinum-colored plates and an unexpectedly exposed skeleton. The timepiece is so exquisite and daring that it’s absolutely covered in precious stones, like 568 baguette-cut diamonds (totaling 33.8 carats) and 234 baguette-cut royal blue sapphires (totaling 16.79 carats).
The casing is studded with royal blue sapphire crystals, giving the watch an intricate design and a delicate feel. The lower half of the dial is platinum plated, with the name of the designer imprinted in blue enamel, at around the 4 and 8 o’clock locations. The strapping is kept simple, yet elegant. The same elegance can be admired at the hours and minutes hands, which are artistically handmade, adding to the watch’s finesse.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County are to profit from Ulysse Nardin’s benevolence, through his charity-related activities. They were donated $1 million from which $200,000 alone from the watchmaker. Thus, Ulysse Nardin proves himself and his company a great luxury watchmaker with a big heart.
