Levitating Turntable

Vinyl is making a huge comeback lately, as everyone around seems to be really excited about all kinds of products with vintage vibes, inspired by good old design cues, fashion trends and memorabilia. But some people still see the turntable as dated technology, which is why the brilliant designers from Mag-Lev worked day and night on changing the way we listen to our favorite vinyl records.

That’s how the Mag-Lev Audio Levitating Turntable has been born, a cool project that’s seeking funding on Kickstarter right now, and I’m quite sure people will love it. The gravity-defying record player is actually the first of its kind, promising to add a unique visual appeal to the audio pleasures of vinyl records.

Bragging about high quality sound and a design that’s just too cool for words, this innovative turntable includes built-in feet on which the platter rests on when it’s not in use, that will retract while the turntable is operating. Subtle orange lighting gives the turntable a sleek and sophisticated look and enhances the visual effects of levitation in the dark.

Counting the incredibly precise turning of the platter, courtesy of a sensor regulating software, and the UPS system protecting this player from power outages – not to mention the levitating vinyl disc – the levitating turntable from Mag-Lev seems to have returned from the future, alongside Marty and his flying DeLorean.
