The co-founder of Oracle, billionaire Larry Ellison, had reportedly bought a huge percent of the Island of Lanai, 98% in fact, for $600 million some time ago, and he’s the proud owner of the magnificent Rising Sun, an extraordinary superyacht worth no less than $377 million. However, the billionaire may have tripped a bit, in financial terms, as he has now listed his property on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe at $28.5 million.

Although the financial drawback is just an assumption, the listing is not – the 2.62-acre compound is located in Glenbrook, Nevada, and encompasses a 9,242-square foot main residence with 6 bedrooms, one half-bathroom and 8 full bathrooms. In addition, this opulent home boasts a billiard room, library, sauna, soundproof screening room and state of the art gym.

Further on, the master bedroom includes two gorgeous dressing rooms and two bathroom, both of them garnished with some Japanese soaking tubs called ofuros.

Adjoining the main mansion we stumbled upon a chic 1,326-square-foot guesthouse comprising three bathrooms and two bedrooms, and across an additional 2,934-square-foot lakefront house with three full bathrooms, five bedrooms and two half bathrooms.

What’s even more astounding is the full 230 feet lake frontage with floating dock, two buoys, rock breakwater, pristine white-sand beach and two piers. And this rather interesting story will not end here.

There’s also a 426-square-foot lakeside cabana with sun-deck and built-in barbecue on the roof, a stunning hot tub overlooking the lake, a private pond, stream, miniature waterfall, heated driveway, patios, top notch security system, guardhouse and splendidly trimmed terraced gardens.

It has taken Larry Ellison three years to put together the magnificent Glenbrook estate. During 2006 he had acquired the main manor and 1.6 acres of land for $11.7 million, while later on, in 2009, he bought two additional parcels for $3.3 million.
