This is definitely something we have long been waiting for – Excalibur Almaz, a space company based in the UK, has publicly announced they’re ready to start sending tourists on a trip to the Moon, starting with the year 2015.

The trip, an 800,000 km journey around our natural satellite, is made via a Russian-like spacecraft, costing as much as $150 million per client. Art Dula, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company based on the Isle of Man, declared on the occasion of a space tourism official meeting in London, this Tuesday, that they’re “ready to sell the tickets”.

The purpose of Excalibur Almaz is to provide reliable and affordable routine access to space exploration, tourism and experimentation, for everyone around the world, as a world leader. In order to accomplish this, the brand has purchased 4 RRV (Reusable Reentry Vehicle) capsules and 2 big Salyut-Class Spacecraft.

In addition, every one of the RRVs can carry up to 3 passengers and could be used even for 15 times. The spacecraft on the other hand have 15 years of service life.

With a potential duration time of 6 months, the trips offered by the brand differ from the services provided by Virgin Galactic, whose spacecraft will only keep tourists a few minutes in the weightlessness of space, at 60 miles in the sky. Probably Virgin are currently thinking of something majestic, who knows?
