British super spy James Bond has been a big fan of Aston Martin supercars for quite some time now, and now the British automaker somehow returns the favor. They’ve introduced a limited run model called DB9 GT Bond Edition, so limited that only 150 people around the world may actually own one. Priced at a cool £165,000 or around $252,000, the Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition celebrates the release of the upcoming Bond movie: Spectre.
The special 007 edition features exclusive trim, equipment and accessories, which mark the brand’s more than 50-year association with the famous movie character. Styling upgrades include a unique Spectre Silver paint, Aston Martin badges finished in sterling silver and discreet ‘007 Bond Edition’ badging around the car.
Don’t forget the ‘standard’ DB9 GT equipment, which includes 20″ ten-spoke gloss black diamond alloys, bright aluminum bonnet vents, side strakes and grille, carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser, not to mention grey brake calipers. Inside the cabin, a subtle homage to James Bond can easily be noticed as well.
With unique numbered sill plaques featuring the familiar 007 logo, gun barrel embroidery on the rear seat divider and a special Bond Edition start-up screen on the AMi II Aston Martin infotainment system, the driver will quickly feel the edge of being an Mi-6 agent.
Powered by the 6.0: V12 engine, good for around 540 hp and 620 Nm of torque, and mated to the Touchtronic II six-speed transmission with electronic shift-by-wire control system, the DB9 GT Bond Edition will do 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.5 seconds and will be able to reach a top speed of 183 mph or 295 km/h.
There are also other Bond-themed accessories available, including a finely-crafted 21-inch Globe-Trotter trolley case finished with an embossed leather luggage tag. But the most incredible and welcomed bonus is the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m James Bond Limited Edition watch, complete with a unique Aston Martin strap. Totally worth it!
