It’s been an unforgettable week for die-hard “Star Wars” fans, who finally got to see the new trailer for Star Wars Episode VII – The Force Awakens, with two of everyone’s favorite characters back on the main screen after more than 32 years: Han Solo and Chewbacca.
To coincide with the release of this spectacular trailer, Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) has started a partnership with the Walt Disney Company, which involved painting a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to resemble the ever-lovable R2-D2 droid. It’s just the start of a five year ANA Star Wars Project that represents the carrier’s strategy to boost its international presence.
The Star Wars themed plane will start flying international routes this fall and the R2-D2 motif works great even with ANA’s blue logo design on the plane’s fuselage. Many people associate the nice little droid with competent and reliable service, and that’s how All Nippon Airways plans to treat us all.
I’m definitely looking forward to see the R2-D2 plane in the skies but I’m even more excited about the new Star Wars movie. Wake me up in December!
