Inspired by its long history and ties to the world of aviation, Longines has just unveiled a new gorgeous timepiece, called the Longines Avigation Chronograph Type A-7 1935. Based on a watch ordered by the U.S. Army Air Forces back in 1935, this new timekeeping marvel shows off a 41 mm stainless steel case and boasts a powerful vibe that makes you think old-school Harley-Davidson bikes and leather jackets.
An AR-coated sapphire crystal and the ability to handle 30 meters deep waters are also part of the offering, with Avigation Chronograph Type A7 1935 being put into motion by a Swiss automatic Longines caliber L788.2 chronograph, with 27 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 54 hours.
The dial looks timeless and simple, with a white lacquer, polished, and 12 honey-colored Arabic numerals that are beautifully complemented by honey-colored and blue-themed hours, minutes and small seconds hands.
Acting as a finishing touch is a brown alligator leather strap, with a steel buckle, matching the overall retro vibe. All you need now is a vintage bike and a pilot’s leather jacket, and you’re set for a good time. Unfortunately we don’t have an official price-tag from Longines yet, but you could always head over to their official website if you want to find out more.
