Probably the first amphibious ATV in the world, the GIBBS Quadski is a nice way to get your daily adrenaline rush on both water and land. This can be achieved thanks to a 175 HP BMW motorcycle engine tied to a transmission which shares the same source.
The 4-cylinder engine is water-cooled and features electronic fuel injection system, dry-sump lubrication and double-overhead camshaft. Weighing at around 1,300 lbs and including a 15-gallon fuel tank, this premiere version of the GIBBS Quadski can carry only one person.
Measuring 4.3 feet in height, 5.2 feet in width and 10.5 feet in length, the GIBBS Quadski has a 5.8 feet wheelbase and can reach speeds of up to 45 mph (around 72.5 km/h) both on land and on water. The wheels of the Quadski can be retracted at the push of a button, as the machine reaches water, and can be deployed in the same manner in order to allow it to shift on land.
The transition time for this operation lasts for around 5 seconds. Priced at around $40,000, this toy isn’t exactly what we would call cheap, and will reportedly be put on sale during this November. It should be so much fun, though!
