The superb Koh Samui is one of the more than 60 islands that make up the eastern archipelago of Thailand, a corner of paradise left nearly untouched, boasting a huge level of pristineness, seclusion and tranquility. Surrounded by the crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Siam, it also contains nice villages, clean beaches and awesome, fresh air.
The Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui is located on the northwestern tip of the island, five minutes’ drive from Nathom, the main city, and 30 minutes away from the international airport. The beaches of this serene spot seem to be made of talcum dust – this reflects how light and virgin they are. In addition, the azure waters of the Gulf of Siam and the towering coconut groves provide the typical tropical landscape, with a great deal of warmness to back them up.
The whole resort stretches upwards from the beachside to an altitude of 350 ft, in the form of superb villas. Being cut into the arduously high terrain of the forested hillside overlooking the breathtaking ocean, they go on until the maximum altitude, where one can find the Lan Tania rooftop restaurant. It appears to be hovering above the tree-line, offering exquisite culinary pleasures.
The resort puts a plethora of activities at your disposal, from daily to nightly ones. Excursions around the resort, outdoor sports, Muay Thai boxing with world-champions, snorkeling, daily cruises on the resort’s own 36-ft tour boat and tennis are only a few of them.
In addition, they provide you with the ability to ride ATVs and elephants, jungle trek, scuba diving or cable riding throughout the canopies. It’s a pity to miss all these. It’s hard to say if these are cheap or expensive, given that the nightly rates start at $516. One thing is certain though – they are worth every penny.
