Electric motorcycles are already eclipsing their initial perception; they’ve no longer just alternative means of transportation, and using evolving technologies and powerful motors they could even reach astounding performance levels.

There are already several companies around the world building electric motorcycles, but Energica, Italy’s answer to this unique challenge, has come up with maybe the best electric bike out there. The first supersport electric motorcycle manufacturer has designed and developed Eva, a naked street fighter that’s easy to handle and breathtakingly fast.

This beautiful thing can act both as an urban-jungle commuter and take you through the thrills of a lifetime at the track in just a matter of seconds. A highly responsive machine, the Energica Eva has been equipped with a permanent magnet AC, oil-cooled motor, and benefits from 95 hp and 125 ft lb of torque.

Instant power and excitement are delivered the moment you touch the throttle, with no clutch or gears to hold you back. With 4 riding modes, Urban, Eco, Rain, and Sport, Eva will blend in depending on the rider’s mood and can travel up to 125 miles in Eco mode – on a single charge. The bike’s top speed is supposed to be 125 mph in Sport mode, which is not half-bad, but it’s the heart-stopping acceleration that will make your day.

In terms of charging, Energica has gone a different way, and integrated a fast-charge system compatible with commercial recharging stations. This means the 4 DC system restores up to 85 percent of battery power in 30 minutes, just enough for a short break and a burger.

A steel tubular-trellis frame, complemented by a cast-aluminum swing arm and that stylish wedged bodywork, make the Eva a truly impressive example of Italian design. Fast, safe and eco-friendly, the Energica Eva starts off at $34,000 and no rider should ignore it.
