After the launch of the Superlight R500 around four years ago, Caterham are now presenting their latest race car, the R600. The vehicle is reportedly the fastest Caterham Seven race car ever manufactured.
The four wheeler is powered by a 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine delivering 275 HP (205 kW). It is the first of the Seven series to comprise forced induction technology. Generating a peak torque of 270 Nm (200 lb-ft), the version delivers a 13% higher torque than its predecessor, the Superlight R500.
In order to deliver all that power to the wheels, the engine is linked to a 6-speed sequential gearbox. In addition, the car was fitted with a Titan limited slip differential and can be mounted a variety of Avon radial wets or slicks. And the guys behind Caterham have had quite an interesting idea – the possessors of R300 can have their car upgraded to R600 specifications.
The prices for this stunning little car are quite high, though – they start at a whopping £44,995.
