Mercedes-AMG has allowed the world premiere of the C63 Cabriolet to take place at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. Representing the range-topping model of the C Class Cabiolet lineup, the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet offers incredible thrills thanks to the new bi-turbo 4.0L V8 engine.

Similar to other C63 models, the beautiful cabriolet version will benefit from 469 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque in a standard guise, while the C63 S brags about 503 hp & 516 lb-ft in. Both these models will come mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission, and nothing more.

As such, the C63 Cabriolet will do 0 to 60 mph (96 kph) in just 4.1 seconds while the C63 S will do the same 0.1 seconds quicker. Top speed stands at 155 mph (250 kph) and 186 mph (300 kph), respectively.

The aesthetics of this vehicle are undoubtedly impressive; the subtle changes on the cabrio include the switch to an electrically retractable soft top, as well as 18-inch titanium grey alloys. On the other hand, the S version benefits from 19-inch rims, although matte black 20-inch alloys are also available. I particularly enjoy this Mercedes in white, as it seems to bring a timeless elegance to the table.

Another difference between the two cabriolet versions is represented by the rear axle: the C63 comes equipped with a rear-axle limited-slip differential, while an electronic on was fitted onto the C63 S. The C63 S also got a “RACE” mode for the transmission, whereas the C63 is limited to “Comfort”, “Sport”, and “Sport+.”

Last but not least, we should also tell you that the S version also features dynamic engine mounts, to add stiffness to the driving conditions and improve handling. Come fall, all US dealers will be showing off both morels to potential customers and the brand’s fans.
