The most powerful Shelby Mustang ever, dubbed as the 2012 Shelby 1000 will be unveiled on the occasion of the New York International Auto Show, due to start on April the 5th. It is quite clear that its name shows that this supercar has around 1000 hp to play with but it’s even more powerful than that.
On road, the normal car can deliver a whopping 950 HP, while the 1000 S/C track version can put up a staggering 1100 HP. The numbers are achieved by a 5.4-liter V8 engine built by Ford – this has called for some other upgrades, to make sure the car doesn’t split in two or take off.
The specialist at Shelby installed larger brakes, a custom aluminum solid driveshaft connected to the all-new nine inch ear end and a completely new sturdier suspension. The car will be produced in a small number of units, as a limited edition. The 2012 Shelby 1000s is currently undergoing its final steps towards the New York International Auto Show.
The price for one of these revolves around the $200,000 sum.
