Here’s a stunning new entry in the high-end smartphone world from Sony – the Japanese brand has recently announced unveiled the brand new Xperia Z. The Xperia Z comes with a 5 inch 1920 x 1080 display, which sets the phone somewhere between the Huawei Ascend D2 and the Droid DNA, with a staggering 441 PPI (pixels per inch).

The smartphone also features the Snapdragon S4 Pro microprocessor, from Qualcomm. In addition, the Xperia Z includes a rear camera with 13 MP alongside the ability to shoot HDR (high dynamic range) videos. Even though these inclusions are quite powerful, the phone is only 79 mm thick. Unfortunately, there’s no info about any wireless carriers, but LTE support is confirmed.

Furthermore, we haven’t heard of any fully-waterproof smartphone so far – the Xperia Z reportedly provides the current highest level of waterproofing (IP55 and IP57), according to Sony, among the entire available range of top notch handsets.

The phone will launch at an international level during the upcoming months, with Android 4.1 OS. The folk at Sony have further announced the software will be updated to 4.2 soon after the official unveiling. Can’t wait!
