This year, the United States of America, and, why not, the whole wide world, celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. Thus, the fabled Swiss manufacturer of luxury timepieces, RJ-Romain Jerome, has recently presented their latest creation – the Liberty DNA watch.

The statue has recently undergone a centenarian restoration process and some of the fragments that resulted from it were given to Romain Jerome. He then incorporated the pieces into this gorgeous watch. It mainly features a bronze bezel adorned with 12 spikes, a reminder of the statue’s crown.

Even the oxidized copper has been clearly replicated, by the verdigris dial. The strapping was crafted from vintage brown alligator leather, while a bronze tone covers the facetted hands.

The case-back features a medallion which reminds of the flame of liberty the statue has been carrying in hand all this time, plus a few stripes, just like those on the American flag. As time goes by, the timepiece will suffer a few changes – the colors it features will get to mimic their real sources.

The Romain Jerome Liberty DNA series is limited to just 125 units, each one priced at $14,900.
