Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr has placed his mansion in Cranleigh, Surrey on the market.
The property comprises a seventeenth century mansion, surrounded by 200 acres of land which includes gardens and ponds, and has belonged to Starr since 1999. At the time, the estate cost just £2 million, but since then it has been extensively renovated with the help of famed interior designer Nicky Halsam. The owner also reportedly took a very hands-on approach.
As you’d expect, Ringo Starr wanted a music room for his gold records and drum kits, but also another large music room for performances. On a more conventional note, there’s also a great kitchen, in addition to the eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms. No expense was spared in the designing and fitting of the main home, which additionally includes an indoor pool, a spa with starry roof, fitness room, and Turkish bath. There’s even a helipad, which isn’t too surprising, given the home’s level of luxury.
Thanks to the many improvements brought to the estate over the years, its price has skyrocketed since being purchased by the drummer. Now, it is on the market for a staggering £20 million (about $31.3 million).
