There’s no shortage of stunning centuries-old castles in the French countryside, many of which are available, if your pockets are deep enough. One such remarkable property is a 15th century château located near the town of Tours, in a region called Touraine, not far from Paris itself.
The castle sits at the heart of a sizeable 100ha estate, so extensive in fact that that deer and wild boar can roam freely through it. Additionally, a couple of ponds contribute to the property’s natural appeal. Though extensively restored, the building has kept its medieval charm, thanks to the use of the appropriate materials, but also due to the efforts made to preserve its original architectural features, like the monumental fire places and ceilings with exposed beams. There’s a huge amount of living space in there as well, about 11,840 square-feet, with no fewer than 21 bedrooms awaiting the new owners (and presumably plenty of guests as well).
This renovated 15thy century château, together with the huge park-like property surrounding it, is on the market for €3.85 million, which is about $4.56 million.
