Porsche reveals the 2011 Cayman R in Los Angeles

Porsche has just unveiled the 2011 Porsche Cayman R, an all new version of their two-seater coupe, at the Los Angeles Auto Show. One of the most important upgrades of the new Cayman is a new chassis which has been lightened by about 120 pounds and thanks to a couple of other tweaks the car is even faster than its predecessor.

Under the hood, the 2011 Cayman R features a 3.4L flat-six engine which was upgraded to deliver 330 horsepower and it’s connected to either a six-speed manual transmission or a PDK automatic gearbox. Porsche announced that the new model is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than five seconds and it could reach a top speed of 281 km/h.

The interior of this new two-seater coupe boasts Alcantara and leather upholstery, new sport seats, strap door handles and a console painted i the same color as the car’s exterior. The car sits on an upgraded suspension with stiffer springs and customized anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles.

Porsche also announced that their 2011 Cayman R will be priced at around $66,000.
