Porsche has announced a special edition 911 Club Coupe, available for members only, to mark the 60th anniversary of the Porsche club scene. The Porsche Clubs have been founded by the 13 original Porsche drivers in Germany. Now featuring a total of 181,000 members worldwide, they will be the only people eligible to own one of the total 13 models to be built. Actually, just 12 of them will be given away, because one will reportedly be kept by Porsche.
The Porsche 911 Club Coupé is a tweaked Porsche 911 Carrera S that drags a large list of optionals behind him. The list includes the brand new Powerkit upgrade for a larger engine output of 430 HP (316 kW), a specially trimmed interior and the SportDesign package. In addition, the car will be running on 20-inch SportTechno wheels.
As for its design, the models will feature special decorative trim with individual lettering for each customer that acquires one, illuminated entry guards with an anniversary logo and model designation, and a “Brewster Green” paintjob.
The car will have its debut within the Porsche Museum for the “60 years of the Porsche Club” special exhibition, where everyone can check on a special 1973 vintage US version of the 911 T Coupé, a restoration signed Porsche Classic commissioned by the Porsche Club of America. The final date until the members of the club will be able to register their right and intention of buying one of the special edition models is the 16th of July 2012 at www.porsche.com/911-club-coupe.
The winners will then be elected from the lot, through a legally audited drawing – a total of 12 lucky fellow individuals. The only two countries where the car won’t be available are India and China. As for all the other markets, the Porsche 911 Club Coupe will be priced, as settled in Germany, at €142,831 per car, VAT not included.
