A one-off Ferrari, commissioned by the renowned Eric Clapton, has been recently unveiled to the public, a unique supercar that was dubbed as the SP12 EC. We don’t have to explain what the initials stand for, as it’s kind of obvious.
Penned down by the Centro Stile Ferrari, in close collaboration with engineers from Maranello and designers from Pininfarina, the unique, flawless model has been manufactured in the name of the fabled music star Eric Clapton. It bears influence from the 512 BB and stands on the modern 458 Italia.
The manufacturer hasn’t made clear statements regarding its performance yet, but as far as we have heard, the vehicle sports the 4.5-liter V8 engine developing 562 HP (419 kW) at 9,000 RPM and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque at 6,000 RPM from the 458 Italia. Similar to the aforementioned model, it is able to reach maximum speeds of over 325 km/h (202 mph) and to accelerate from naught to 62 mph (100 km/h) in around 3.4 seconds.
Mr. Clapton stated regarding the construction of the car that it was almost like “being in front of a gigantic blank canvas that had to be painted on”, adding “it was an incredible experience, one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done.”
We gladly applaud at this individual who has succeeded throughout his life by creating excellent music and ripping guitars apart. He totally deserves a stunningly unique car to drive.
