Zilbert International Realty have recently stated that the most expensive condo ever to be sold in South Florida, a state of the art penthouse formerly used by renowned celebrities like Simon Cowell, Jim Carrey and Madonna, was sold for a whopping $27 million. It has broken the previous record, established in May, of $25 million, held by the fabled Sky Mansion.

The new record holder fully occupies the 7100-square foot of the 40th floor of The Setai, near the fabulous Miami Beach. It comprises a total of 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, all of them sharing breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The penthouse further includes a lavish terrace, private pool and hot tub. The fixtures within the bathrooms have been extraordinarily endowed by two famous names in the field – Dorenbracht and Duravit.

This magnificent Setai penthouse was bought by the previous owners for $15 million, back in 2010, according to some reports sourcing from Wall Street Journal. It has been rented to stars from Hollywood ever since, for a mind-boggling $30,000 per night. The nightly rates seemed to be intriguingly attractive for the aforementioned fabled folk, even though this is definitely far from being the best penthouse we’ve written about so far. We’re very curious, though, on the identity of its latest buyer.
