Bentley has just unveiled the new limited edition Continental GT3-R, a model based on the track-only Continental GT3, which comes with more power and a lighter body.
The new version is in incredible 200 pounds lighter, a feat achieved by the removal of the rear seat and the swapping of the standard exhaust system with a titanium one, while also adding lightweight forged 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in Pirelli tires.
The British carmaker wasn’t content with just making the vehicle lighter, they’ve also added more power, with the addition of a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine with turbochargers that feature a higher boost and new engine control software. This increases the output to 580 PS and 516 lbs-ft (from 528 PS and 520 lbs-ft), which is channeled to the all-wheel drive system by an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. This allows the GTR-3 to go from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.8, while the top speed was also increased to 170 mph.
Only 300 units are set to be produced, all of them with a Glacier White livery with glossy carbon fiber contrasts on the headlamp bezels, bumpers strips and grille, while the side profile will feature two-tone green graphics.
