Jerry Seinfeld must be going through some tough times for him to decide that his precious car collection is worth breaking up, all of a sudden. The famous TV star has sold a total of 15 classic Porsches from his prized collection, and possibly a piece of automotive history, at the Amelia Island Auction, in Florida.
As a result, he cashed in $22 million, a small fortune to say the least. Jerry Seinfeld never bought the cars to make a profit, but it seems he did that anyway. The highest-grossing car sold at the auction was a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, which went away for $5.3 million.
What’s really impressive is that, according to Gooding & Company, the cars that were up for auction represented only around 10% of Jerry Seinfeld’s collection.
The vehicle list may be too long to read, but let’s just mention a few important models, such as a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0, a 2000 Porsche Carrera GT prototype, a 1997 Porsche 993 Cup 3.8 RSR or the 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Speedster.
