Hublot and Ferrari have recently teamed up to craft what we think is one of the best looking timepieces of recent history. A piece definitely worth collecting, the innovative MP-05 LaFerrari is a striking tourbillion wristwatch boasting the world record power reserve for a hand-wound tourbillion wristwatch.
Yet, apart from the humongous 50-day power reserve, this is, according to Hublot, the watch containing the most watchmaking parts ever created by the brand. In addition, the MP-05 LaFerrari comes with a specially microblasted black PVD-coated titanium case housing a mind-boggling 637 components, and courtesy of the tourbillion movement system, they are all arranged so that they appear to resemble the engine bay of a Ferrari. Those red cylinder banks with the admission manifold in the middle make this watch look like it’s ready the rumble.
One can notice the minutes and hours being displayed right of the barrels, indicated by means of one anodised black aluminium cylinder each. To the left we can notice the cylinder indicating the power reserve. And there are some anodised red aluminium reinforced bars on either sides that remind of the red signature of Ferrari.
Easing the process of time reading, on each of the cylinders the size of the numerals was enlarged with white SuperLuminova. The series of excellent parts gets rounded off by a gorgeous rubber strap with black PVD titanium folding buckle.
Just 50 copies of the Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari wristwatch will ever be manufactured, each piece being priced at a dazzling $300,000.
