Coach-builder Gullwing America has recently revealed its new project, a one off Ferrari F-340 Competizione, based on the lovely 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico Berlineta. Only 3 units of this car were ever made, built for competition in the Carrera Panamericana race in Mexico.
Gullwing America will try to re-invent the model using modern technology on a 456 Ferrari platform with a body from aluminum hand made by Australian Mark Nungent. It will look a bit more aggressive and modern thanks to a new rear diffuser, rear spoiler, side vents and front splitters that the classic car didn’t had.
Under the hood, the one-off Ferrari F-340 Competizione will feature a massive 5.4L V12 engine producing 470 horsepower that willb e coupled to an original 6 speed manual transmission. The braking system as well as the suspension system will be also modern and great enough to handle and stop this beauty.
The interior of the car will be close to the original 340 Mexico Berlineta but will feature a couple of modern elements such as carbon fiber seats, a roll bag, modern chronometers and a special luggage set from Gullwing America.
