Russian luxury mobile phone company Gresso is adding to its high-end smartphone line-up – this time it’s Gresso Radical Black Edition.
Running an Android Jelly Bean operating system, it features all the functions and capabilities of a modern mobile phone. However, we’re going to be a bit shallow this time and argue that what makes this device special is not what’s under the hood, but its exterior.
The Gresso Radical Black Edition’s case was created from a single, solid grade 5 titanium plate, milled for eight hours by hi-tech machinery, then hand-polished until it achieves its signature shine. But that’s not where the process ends – next a PVD coating is applied (which is where the device gets its name from).
The sensor keys are also made from titanium and coated in PVD, a first in the world of smartphones. Also, adding another touch of style, the front panel features the Gresso logo in whatever the buyer selects out of polished titanium, yellow, or white 18-carat gold.
Only 100 Gresso Radical Black Edition devices will be manufactured, the base model coming with a price tag of $2,500. Orders can be placed on the company’s official website starting May 14th 2014.
