In order to honor the tradition and history of the Robert Mondavi Winery, on the slopes of Napa Valley, Frank Pollaro has recently come up with the fantastically beautiful, one of a kind Centenary Table.

The exquisite object celebrates the 100th anniversary of the renowned winery. Pollaro’s wish for this matter was to shape up a unique piece of furniture to repay the efforts of Robert Mondavi, the father of the American fine wine industry. The accomplished manufacturer describes: “This project is very dear to me as one of my first memories in wine education started with a bottle of Robert Mondavi Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve.”

The Centenary Table is designed to accommodate up to 8 people and boasts with 100 round inlays around the edging, which, of course, each symbolize one year since Robert Mondavi has first seen the light of day. Each of the inlays has the diameter of a wine cork and have been crafted from persimmon wood – one of Mondavi’s favorite fruits, also grown at the winery.

The base of the table has also been segmented into 6 different parts, representing the 6 main grape species grown at the Mondavi winery, in the To Kalon Vineyard – Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and, of course, Merlot. These nicely put-together sides have also been highlighted with words carved by hand – Family, Passion, Friends, Food, Art and Wine – the 6 closest loves of the famous winemaker.

One of the most beautiful home design elements we’ve ever come across, Frank Pollaro’s Centenary Table will reportedly be manufactured as a strictly limited edition, of just 5 units, each of them wearing a price tag of $75,000.
