Lamborghini Huracan STO 1

The Lamborghini Huracan STO has been officially revealed, and a mere glance at its aero prowess and performance figures will make you realize you’ll regret being on Santa’s naughty list – at least this year.

Designed as a superlative track-competent supercar, this outrageous Lambo hides a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine that still brags about familiar numbers – 631 HP (640 PS) and 565 Nm (417 lb-ft) of torque – although, it’s the rear axle that puts the STO in motion.

After going through an intense diet, this Huracan is 43 kg (95 lbs) lighter than the Performante variant, which is impressive already. To put it in numbers, going from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes only 3 seconds flat, 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 9 seconds flat, and the car’s top speed is a cool 192 mph (310 km/h).

If all that sounds exciting, it’s because it probably is. Balanced, lightweight, and aerodynamically tweaked, the Huracán STO is a supercar that’s fully capable of handling the world’s most demanding tracks, while also offering a pleasurable drive to your neighborhood ride.

This road-legal Italian racecar promises the same level of excitement as a racing driver would enjoy daily, and features various aerodynamic improvements, from bumper to bumper.

The Huracan STO comes with a redesigned front splitter, a new underbody design and a brand new rear diffuser, complemented by a massive rear fender which allows for a 30% decrease in static pressure losses. You might realize you’d feel safer at top speed rather than standing still – at least, in this supercar.

What else could we mention? Well, there’s a long list of touches, like the integrated air scoop and dedicated air deflectors on the rear engine hood, the shark fin, adjustable rear wing, new front brake cooling ducts, and Brembo CCM-R brakes. Don’t forget about the 75% all-around carbon fiber construction.

The STO badly needed high levels of downforce, simply since all that power is sent to the rear axle, exclusively. With a total weight of 1,339 kg (2,952 lbs), just like your middle-class sedan, this thing will blast past anything or anyone. But that’s not all it has to offer.

Lamborghini also equipped this beast with a stiffer suspension, an increased wheel track, faster gear changes, sharper steering, and three new driving modes that should be considered before you put the pedal to the metal.

Speaking of driving, the cabin features extensive use of carbon fiber – the sports seats, Alcantara upholstery with Lamborghini’s Carbonskin, carbon fiber floor mats and door panels, as well as the plus four-point seat belts.

In the end, let’s talk prices: the Huracan STO starts at $327,838 (taxes excluded) in the United States, 249,412 EUR (taxes excluded) in Europe, GBP 216,677 (taxes excluded) in the UK – it’s ridiculously expensive, but it’s also worth every single penny. You get the idea.

Furthermore, Lamborghini will allow Huracan STO owners to personalize their car using limitless paint and trim combinations, as well as race-style vinyl – the Blu Laufey and Arancio California liveries are just two examples.
