Clerc Geneve, part of the experienced timepieces manufacture guild in Geneva, have recently unveiled their latest brainchild – the Hydroscaph Steel Central Chronograph.
The watch is available in a various choice of metals, DLC finished or not. Timepieces like this one have been pretty numerous among our pages, distinctive due to their unique “square in circle” shape. The case alone features 103 parts by itself, making it one of the most exquisite and high tech diving timepieces of today.
This particular version is a small overhaul of the Hydroscaph Central Chronograph series, preceded by the fabled Clerc Clockwork Orange, launched back in February 2011.
In technical terms, the watch bears a 45 mm case which allows it to resist at depths of around 500 hundred meters. Inside, an automatic mechanical Clerc C608 movement makes sure the small contraption runs smoothly. The case ties to the wearer’s forearm via a rubber or rubber-treated hornback crocodile strap, secured by folding clasps.
The dial boasts with two “tuning fork”-like minutes and hours hands, while the central chronograph features two central-set hands, a rather different approach than the 3 sub-dials chronographs. The 9 o’clock position hosts a 24-hour GMT functional miniature dial, while a non-chrono seconds subdial has been placed at 3 o’clock.
The piece you can see in the photos is just one out of the 500 due to being crafted as a limited edition. Either you pick the rose gold with DLC coated steel or any of the simple steel versions, you’re poised to be noticed.
