The renowned watchmaker Chopard has teamed up with luxury automotive designer Zagato a while ago, to create a stunning Mille Miglia Zagato watch that’s going to be produced in a limited run of just 500 units. Since the company’s first days in 1919, Zagato has collaborated with the most prestigious automakers, to design four wheel masterpiece which have taken home the Mille Miglia trophy in the 1930s and more recently in 2012.
The new limited-edition timepiece collection is inspired by the company’s latest designs. The exquisite chronographs are crafted from DLC blackened stainless steel and 18-karat rose gold and feature the Zagato logo on both the case back and the grill-inspired dial. The curved chronograph counters are made of what’s left of a Zagato roof and the red pusher is also paying homage to the racing world.
The Mille Miglia Zagato timepiece combines Chopard’s performance, engine and frame with Zagato’s bodywork, interior and upholstery, to put it more nicely. A watch like this doesn’t come cheap, so the DLC Blackened Stainless Steel with 18K rose gold version is priced at $9.900, while the “simple” DLC Blackened Stainless Steel watch comes at a price of $8.100.
