Kinsterna Hotel

Found in the dreamy medieval castle town of Monemvasia, that’s located on a small island off the east coast of the Peloponnese, the Kinsterna Hotel will charm you the moment you reach its magical doors. This is a hidden Greek gem, where people can do much more than take a breath, as you can see from these photos.

The ancient town of Sparta is just an hour away from the hotel and other historic sites from the Peloponnese are ready to be explored once you get here. This is what perfect vacation days are made of, and the Kristerna Hotel will offer you a unique experience, to put it mildly.

The original structure of the building has been preserved for centuries, housing this exquisite boutique hotel nowadays. Once a rural mansion in the Byzantine era, the Kinsterna Hotel takes its name after the cistern at the center of the hotel, which is more than fitting since the Byzantine word for “cistern” is Kisterna.

The hotel is now surrounded by beautiful ruins and amazing gardens, offering incredible views of the sea from each of the 27 rooms and suites. There’s also a gourmet restaurant and a relaxing spa that will make you forget about everything else, thus allowing you to fully enjoy this piece of history.
