Ballon Bleu is one of Cartier’s most popular collections, comprising luxurious timepieces of an understated elegance, like the ones Kate Middleton and other members of the British royal family are often seen with, to this eye-catching limited edition we’ve featured last year. The Serti Vibrant is hard to pin down in any of these categories- while it’s not exactly gaudy, it’s also hard to say about a watch with so many diamonds that it isn’t a bit on the flashy side.
It comes with a 42mm 18-carat white gold case set with no fewer than 201 diamonds, as well as blued-steel sword-shaped hands and a fluted crown set with a sapphire cabochon. The gorgeous dial boasts 123 brilliant-cut diamonds, set in such a way that they all oscillate slightly, creating a mesmerizing effect unseen before from a wristwatch. And it doesn’t end here, either: the Serti Vibrant also features a rhodiumized 18K white gold bracelet set with an additional 985 brilliant-cut diamonds, which brings the total quantity of glittering stones on this timepiece to over 15 carats!
Cartier will only make 20 Serti Vibrant watches, each individually numbered and priced at a staggering $250,000.
