The Cantilevers is a Unique Desk Made from the Winglet of a Boeing 737

It’s always nice to see manufacturers breathing new life into discarded objects, especially when those objects used to be part of something awesome like a jet airplane. We’ve already shown you a few items created from various aircraft parts, from a bed or a table fashioned from jet engines, to an actual bomb turned into a drinks cabinet, but this time we’re presenting a very stylish table made by French company called Les Ateliers Flown from the winglet of a Boeing 737-800.

With such a unique raw material to work with, the manufacturer has to come up with something very impressive, taking advantage of its exceptional nature. At four meters (about 13 feet) in length, the Cantilevers desk is just such a product. In order to be stable, the winglet stands on a block of Sea Pearl granite, something which makes the desk a symbolic mix of air, earth, and water – with the perhaps to be added by the person sitting behind it.

As one might expect, something like the Cantilevers doesn’t just fall from the sky: the one-of-a-kind creation will be auctioned during the next event organized by Paris-based auction house Artcurial on March 2nd this year. The event will be hosted by the Gustave Moreau Museum in the French capital.
