In one of the coolest instances of awesome name with a great and really fitting story behind it, Ronin Motor Works has created, with significant support from Colorado-based firearms manufacturer Magpul Industries, a limited edition motorbike series called the Ronin 47. The name comes from a popular Japanese legend which tells the story of 47 Samurai who have lost their master. Each of these bikes is a reworked Buell 1125R and 1125CRS – ‘Ronin’ in their own right ever since Harley-Davidson shut down Buell Motorcycle Company in 2009.
The Rotax engine employed by the original Buell was known to generate a lot of heat, so the upgraded model now comes with a high-flow, single-core radiator up front, connected to an overflow tank hidden inside the left fork leg. The Showa forks have been replaced with a cast aluminum alloy linkage fork, giving the bike its hunched-forward look, while the trail has been raised by 13 mm, sharpening the steering. Multiple additional modifications and improvements ensure riding the Ronin will be an amazing experience, worthy of such a prestigious name.
Speaking of names, each bike is engraved with the name of one of the 47 Ronin from the Japanese story, something which can also be seen on the bamboo toolbox which comes with every unit. The price for one of these excellent limited edition motorcycles is $38,000.
