Audi has just revealed the 2015 R8 Competition, a few weeks before showing off the vehicle at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Touted as the “most powerful Audi production vehicle to-date”, the new model features a 5.2-liter V10 engine which churns out 570 bhp (425 kW), mated to a seven-speed S tronic and an all-wheel drive system. The R8 Competition can go from a standstill to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 199 mph (320 km/h), which makes it the fastest R8 ever created.
In terms of aesthetics, the model comes with a number of matte carbon fiber components including a front spoiler, flics, side blades, mirror caps, a rear diffuser and a rear wing. Inside the cabin there’s matte carbon fiber trim and illuminated “R8 competition” door sill plates.
The car also comes with gloss black alloy wheels and a sports exhaust system with high-gloss black tailpipes, as well as carbon ceramic brakes and anodized red brake calipers.
The 2015 Audi R8 Competition will be released as a 60 unit limited series available exclusively in the Unites States. Orders will be accepted starting in November, with the first deliveries expected for early next year.
